Temporary (paid) work for those interested......

Cycle North Carolina is currently hiring temporary event staff to work various support jobs during the annual cross-state bicycle tour from September 27-October 4, 2008. The Cycle North Carolina “Mountains to the Coast” event is a cross-state bicycle and camping tour of North Carolina that involves more than 1,000 cyclists. PASA member becomes Chairman of Gaston County Parks & Re

So last month I was nominated and voted in as the Chairman of the Gaston County Parks and Recreation Commission. Didn't really think about posting it but I guess it's news-worthy. As some of you know I was already on the commission as a County Commission appointed board member so this just an additional one year commitment during which I will lead the monthly commission meetings I was already attending. Thread Trail, Wilson Creek get millions

A state environmental agency has awarded more than $8 million to create a network of trails in the Charlotte region and protect nationally-recognized Wilson Creek in Caldwell County.
The Clean Water Management Trust Fund said today it has granted $3 million to the Carolina Thread Trail, an ambitious project to link greenways, trails and open space across 15 counties in the Charlotte region.

Please take the time to join PASA and show support for the club. If you use Poston, if you use Huntersville/Stuntersville, if you use the PASA forum to talk to your fellow riders do the club the huge favor of purchasing an annual membership and/or keeping it up to date.
